IRGC dep. Cmdr. rejects inspections on military centers

TEHRAN, Apr. 19 (MNA) – IRGC deputy-commander has said there is no conflict of roles between the IRGC and the Army.

Gen. Hossein Salami who was speaking to an IRIB Channel One’s program ‘Glance 1’ Saturday night on the occasion of Iran’s National Army Day, said that keeping the Army by Imam Khomeini (RA) against the demands that the Army be dissolved in the early days of the Revolution was a great feat and depth of his vision.

“No clash of roles between the IRGC and the Army would be seen; rather, they constitute a deterring system along each other; however, by mission, they pursue different missions,” Salami told to the program. “For example, IRGC aerospace force specializes in ballistic missile and unmanned aircrafts development, and the army focuses on manned air fighters,” he added.

Salami responded to demands made by the enemy [during nuclear negotiations] to inspect Iran’s military centers; “we would not allow such demands even in their dreams to be realized; military centers should be protected against any such violations; a foreign inspector in our garrison would mean occupation of our soil, since it has all our defensive secrets,” Salami emphasized. “This would mean national humiliation as well,” he said.

Salami also said that their famous ‘all options are on the table’ would no longer disturb Iran; “our assumptions have been based on a full-fledged war with US and our defensive structures and capabilities embrace the whole region,” he told the program.

Salami believed that Iranophobia by Zionist regime was justified, since before the Revolution, they had been defeated in no battle; however, “they have been victorious in no battle.”

He also believed that Saudi Arabia suffered internal conflict and to solve that, it adopted adventurism in Yemen to project its own problems on; “if Saudi Arabia scores success in Yemen, it will turn to its other neighbors as well; this is a historic error of judgment to attack Yemen Saudis suffered, since it revealed its pro-Israel true face for Muslim nations,” said the General.

Salami emphasized that Iran would not enter any territorial waters; however he warned that any threat, even the most superficial, would receive very crushing reaction by “our fleet.”
